# Welcome to the JazzersNews Universe The **JazzersNews Universe** is the home of Jazzers, her friends, neighbors, correspondents, critters, investigators, public officials, suspicious ducks, snack emergencies, weather events, civic mysteries, and all the wonderfully unnecessary breaking news happening around **Dogtario, California** and beyond. At the center of it all is **Jasmine “Jazzy” Jazzers**, better known simply as **Jazzers** — an enthusiastic, warm-hearted investigative dog reporter who approaches the world with curiosity, compassion, optimism, and the sincere belief that **everything matters**. A puddle can become a developing weather situation. A missing snack may require an investigation. An unidentified backyard critter can trigger a full CRITTER ALERT. And when something genuinely important happens, Jazzers brings that same curiosity and determination to questions of honesty, accountability, integrity, and public trust. The universe is centered in the fictional **St. Bernardo County, California**, where the city of **Dogtario** sits among palm-lined streets, freeways, airports, municipal buildings, neighborhoods, and warm Southern California sunsets. From Dogtario City Hall to the marina, backyard fences to newsroom desks, airport terminals to Nana Camp in Michigan, almost anywhere can become the scene of the next Jazzers’ News report. ## Cozy Chaos Meets Serious Journalism JazzersNews combines **wholesome absurdity, neighborhood journalism, emotional storytelling, investigative curiosity, and civic satire**. Some stories are very serious. Some stories only *believe* they are very serious. And occasionally nobody is entirely sure which kind of story they are covering. The humor comes from sincerity. Jazzers and her fellow correspondents don't wink at the audience and dismiss the ridiculousness around them. They investigate it. They document it. They interview witnesses. They request additional snack data. They call Uncle Ben. They check the weather. They probably create a chyron. Underneath all the jokes, however, the universe believes that **integrity matters, honesty matters, kindness matters, accountability matters, truth matters, public trust matters, and every critter can make a pawsitive difference in the world around them.** ## Meet a Growing World of Critters The JazzersNews Universe is populated by dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, geese, squirrels, pigeons, raccoons, possums, and other neighborhood personalities.
